This is truly a great film. Harrowing, brutal, and horrifying but this is surely what the life of a slave was. Great acting by all concerned. I couldn't stop thinking about it and couldn't sleep after seeing it, but am glad I have seen it.

At the risk of being seen as disrespectful to these people's misery the film gets repetitive in relation to their beatings & murders and in doing so loses some of its impact. Good production values.

Not bad but nothing like the hype it received (how often do we see that!!!???) Chiwetel Ejiofor (have given an extra half star for his efforts) has to be one of the very best actors on the planet. This... Read more
