This has to be one of my all time favourite science fiction films. While very different from Alien, this film manages to deliver more action while at the same time carry the same tense atmosphere throughout.

, James Cameron explains how the project to create a story and film the movie was presented to him, as well as explains some features and special effects of the movie. Gale Ann Hurd (the producer) also explains some of the making of the movie, including that James Cameron had to pay for fancy robotic lasers out of his own pocket as the budget didn't allow them, and how she doubled as Vasquez in one scene of the movie. Hicks, Hudson, Bishop and Vasquez give their narratives and talk about their relationships with the other actors and certain points of the movie (Vasquez can do chin-ups and wasn't standing on a box at all!) The wee girl (Newt) also gives her narrative and talks about how her friends, to this day, tease her with her infamous line "they mostly come out at night....mostly". It was very interesting and can't wait to see the bonus disc to get more in depth detail. If you haven't seen it - get it out! Lots of fun, lots of action, lots of aliens and lots of great memorable lines - great fun!

performances from all the cast, which brought more to their already diverse rolls which created unforgettable characters.

as a mother figure to a young girl up against a terrifying alien queen-along with hordes of its offspring.Definitely recommended!

scares, where as this is action action action. a standalone classic. this is one exellant movie. hire it. NOW.

What can you say? Ridley Scotts original Alien redefined the monster in the basement horror film. James Camerons Aliens redefined action and Sci Fi.

, a smart script and top of the line Special FX all in the same film. Cameron compromises on nothing. This 'special edition' with added scenes shows how smart a director he is. The original was a tightly edited 2 hours 15 minues and the additonal scenes add nothing to the film.Tension is kept at a constant level and the use of the marines motion trackers only heightens this as dots on their screen slowly move towards them. Finally the battle scene on board the Sulaco between Ripley (Sigorney Weaver - rightly nominated for an Oscar for her performance) and the Alien Queen is a masterpeice of editing. Done with full size animatronics and stop motion miniatures (hey it was 1986 - CGI was the film industry's wet dream at that time) you will be hard pressed to tell where one starts and the other leaves off. A lesson those who rely on CGI effects in their films today should take note of.
A classic in every sense of the word.

Awesome follow up to the first one. This one shows more of the Aliens terrifying abilities. A must see movie for anyone that likes action/horror/sc-fi.
