The best, best, BEST mini-series depicting the European Assault in WWII, ever made. It is an epic piece of film/television that you must watch in your lifetime. It truly takes you where no movie or... Read more book has ever taken you before - into the heart of the matter. Amazing visuals, amazing acting, amazing storyline (and to think it's all true!). This is WWII in a nutshell. A beautiful, brilliant nutshell.
An orgasm in a mini series. The best ever, saving private ryan X10, if you haven't seen it, you haven't lived.
The strengths of this story are in the characters (superb acting) and a great glimpse back in history. Can't wait to see the rest of the series.
A not to be missed series - anyone who likes history or war or brilliantly produced films must see this series.
Keep watching the series, blood and glory, these boys show us what "brother" really means. Brilliant direction team, like a great service unit, watch and compare for yourself, find what you're looking for.
Awsome Love the movie would buy of i wanted to but ill wait and see i think this is a gr8 movie and i believe it a good true story movie
I like this movie because it is realistic and shows real events that went on during these times and does not try to make the war look better than it was. It also has some of the main characters (who... Read more are real people from the war) in it. At the start and sometimes the end they speak and it shows them in there old age which i think is really great because they're getting their stories told and it really makes the events you see hit home. If you liked "Saving Private Ryan" You'll most definitely love this movie so much more. Its quite an addictive series because you want to see what happens to this company and the people in it who you grow to love.
Fantastic sequel to the first DVD ... this one was a little more gruesome but still a very good watch.
A remarkable story. I think that it is very watchable and would recommend to my friends quite easily.
This incredibly well-made mini-series from Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg is a must watch for all. Following Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne, this series... Read more follows the men of E Company from their parachute training at Camp Toccoa, through to their assault on Normandy on D-Day, continuing to their final assault on Germany itself, where they capture Hitler's historical hideaway, the 'Eagle's Nest'. Even though each episode has a different director (and in some cases writer), the story and feel of the series flows amazingly well, and shows off the talents of the filmmakers themselves. In addition to the directors, each episode is also seen from a different man's perspective, while still keeping the entire company itself as main characters.
The two characters that the series follows more closely than others are the amazing Lt. Richard Winters (played brilliantly by Damian Lewis), the man who saw Easy through the entire war -rising in rank to Major, and soon commanding the entire battalion, and his best friend and intelligence officer Lt. Lewis Nixon (played equally well by Ron Livingston). With brilliant acting on all fronts, you would never have guessed which actor was really British (and half of them are) with their superb American accents, and with incredible special-effects and makeup, some scenes are definitely not for the squeamish. Overall, this series is definitely one of my favourites. Powerful, dramatic, great action, equally great humour, and most importantly based on amazingly unlikely true events, this series gives great insight to anyone wanting to learn a little more about American military history, Paratroopers, the European campaign and WWII in general, or those just wanting an action film with a bit more substance to watch.
If you do decide to rent this gem of a series, be sure to rent the entire 6 disks, and, I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
