for a long time but easily the best action / drama too. Critically acclaimed, this show leads the viewer into new territory thanks to the veteran Star Trek Writer / producer Ronald D Moore. Moore breaks away from the usual sci-fi conventions and gives us this most original compelling and completely addictive sci fi drama!

watch at times which was unexpected. Well worth a watch if you're a Sci-Fi fan

Great Sci Fi adventure and well worth watching.
NOTE this should be watched before the Main Battlestar gallactica DVD which follows on from it.

use of modern CG sequences, documentary-style camera cuts and angles and a quality depth of the characters creates a feeling of the viewer actually experiencing first-hand the frantic battle of
humanity against the 'evil' Cylons.
One you've seen the Mini Series, you'll definitely be hooked and wanting to watch Seasons 1, 2, 3
and 4 which will be airing on the Sci-Fi channel early 2008.

partly worth it. Would recommend to die hard fans only. If you have never watched BSG before, it would bore the tears off you!

An OK remake of the original series but with some flaws. Hate the jerky documentary style camera work. The ending is an indicator of the series to come. Might improve then.

OK first up if you are a die hard fan of the 70's series of Battlestar Galactica you do not want to watch this.
Things have been changed enough that quite a bit is unrecognisable.

run down:The cylons, a machine race, were created by man to serve but rose up one night to try and destroy mankind. What resulted was a war that lased 40 years before a "peace" was established. The Cylons retreated to the stars and have not been heard from - until now.
Standing alone is the Battlestar Galactica. 50 years old, unarmed and until the new war breaks out a museum. Now it must gather the remaining remnants of the 12 colonies packed into 50 ships and lead them away from the cylon threat.
Overall it is a good concept. Once you allow yourself to accept Starbuck as a cigar chomping gung ho woman just watch it and enjoy. The makers have made the space fight scenes more realistic ie the fighters have main engines which run only for periods and then they use thrusters to alter pitch roll etc. The ships can even fly backwards - think if the old game of asteriods and you get the idea.
I myself would like to see a series to see where they go with it.
Not a bad one to watch on a rainy afternoon if you like Sci Fi
