1971 M Restricted to persons 16 years and over.

You don't assign him to murder cases, You just turn him loose.

Harry Callahan is a tough, streetwise San Francisco cop whom they call Dirty Harry. In this action classic, you'll see why - and also why Clint Eastwood's reputation as a premier film star and moviemaker is secure. A rooftop sniper (Andy Robinson) calling himself Scorpio has killed twice and holds the city ransom with the threat of killing again. Harry will nail way or the other - no matter what the "system" prescribes. Filming on location, director Don Siegel made the City by the Bay a vital part of Dirty Harry, a practice continued in its four sequels. The original remains one of the most gripping police thrillers ever made.

Not as good as I remember, but great use of location and editing, loved the jazz soundtrack, Clint Eastwood is cool and great in action. Famous line not withstanding, "Did I fire 5 or 6 shots punk"?

One of Clint Eastwoods best performances. Typical 70's cop movie and Clint being a good cop with an attitude.

This is a classic, all other cop movies try to emulate this one. There are the classic lines and one tough mother. I would recomend this to anyone.

Legendary. Eastwood in his trademark role. A good chance to go back 35 years and see how SF used to be. Good character acting, great location (SF is always a nice place to see a film being set in).... Read more

Dirty Harry has to be one of Clint Eastwood's best movies. I have watched it lots of times and still enjoy the movie. A good story with plenty of drama and action all the way through. I can recommend this movie.

A 70s classic still great to watch today. Clint Eastwood delivers some of the all time great movie lines.

Some of the sequences are worth a watch 45 years on. The highlight for me is the City itself - the location "shooting".

classic. bit raw. hairstyles and gratuitous violence and nudity date it somewhat, but great to compare Dirty Harry, the original, to Gran Turino for example. forever a rebel :)

An all-time classic; you just don't come across characters like Dirty Harry Callahan in movies these days. Awesome one liners that will be quoted for the rest of time! "You've gotta ask ya self, do I feel lucky? Well do ya?! Punk!"
