Ricky Gervais is one of the cleverest comedians to come out of the UK in the last 10 years, and Extras is his crowning achievement, every bit as worthwhile as The Office.
An interesting film that explores the problem of fame and fortune and/or integrity. It has its funny moments and is well worth watching.
If you're a devoted Ricky Gervais fan you might enjoy this last Extras outing, but be prepared to sit through some dull moments and jokes that miss the mark. The best thing Gervais ever did was cast... Read more Ashley Jensen in the original series as his best friend, dimwitted but sweet Maggie; here she simply walks away with the movie. The rest of the gang work hard, and there's a wickedly funny cameo by Clive Owen, but this farewell to Extras could have been such a blast -- and it's not.
Poor script and direction, considering I enjoyed his last made for TV movie with a witty interpretation of the social lies around religion and the very inequality of the world we live in, this was absolute... Read more rubbish. What were u thinking of Ricky???
OK but not as good as the TV series - the basic idea can't really sustain 90 minutes as opposed to the TV series 30.
Entertaining enough to warrant getting out, although it's really a number of episodes on one DVD without ad breaks. We laughed - I guess that's the desire effect.
this is certainly not some of ricky's best work, disapointing.
This was promising but it never got started and the when it did start It went absolutely nowhere at all. A great failure which was a pity as the series went it did start was brilliant This video is not one of the BBC'S best.
