great watch, quite odd to see the AB's portrayed as 'the other side'. No mention of the food poisoning! Portrays Nelson Mandela in an inspiring way, some good history to be learned.

This movie limped along and is about 30mins too long. The rugby action is fairly atrocious despite the fact that according to the special features they are actual rugby players.
The acting of... Read more
both Morgan Freeman & Matt Damon is very good but not good enough to save this film. I think part of the problem is trying to tell too many stories at once.

It was very easy to watch, I was disappointed with the rugby scenes, I feel like it could have been so much more given the subject matter.

Watched this as both a rugby fan (who watched "the game" in the movie at the time) and a Mandella fan.

have a Dirty Harry signature. Although the movie seems to focus on the rugby, it provided me with a much deeper insight about the use of the game by the canny Mandela.Matt Damon is his usual excellent self and Morgan Freeman just about pulled it off in the Mandella role - no mean feat. Just undone by the accent though, made all the more noticeable by Damon's accuracy.
Recommended.

Very enjoyable movie. Impressed with Matt Damon and how can you ever be disappointed with Morgan Freeman? Really interesting - loved it!

This is not a movie about rugby. It's more about how Mandela used rugby to try and unite his country. It's as much politics as sports. So those expecting a movie solely about the rugby world cup will... Read more
probably be disappointed. It does skip over the poisoning, which potentially could have added to the story, but would have reduced the "feel good" factor. And those who know rugby probably will be able to pick holes in the game.
It was however thoroughly enjoyable, very inspirational with an excellent cast performance.
