Great movie ~~ martial arts with a story ~~ can't wait to see IP MAN 2... LOVED IT!

This movie is definitely one of the best kung fu movies ever made,good story line and not just something for the boys.recommend highly just get it and judge for yourself.

I'm not a huge fan of martial arts movies and got this more for my boyfriend to enjoy, but I really enjoyed it. It's not a cheesy storyline based around the martial arts action but a good storyline and the martial arts scenes are brilliant.

Yay! A martial arts movie without those special effects like in Crouching Tiger. More real, but a bit too heavy on the melodrama and violins. Great fight scenes, if you like martial arts you'll love this.

you research the real Ip Man story it's disappointing. the way the movie tells it you'd think he was directly responsible for the WWII Japanese surrender. as for the Japanese soldiers, they come off little better than Die Hard villains. if not for its subtle-as-a-sledgehammer "china good/japan bad" overtones I'd have given it an extra star. probably the most interesting fact I learnt about Ip Man is that there are approximately 2 million people who have learnt his style of kung fu. (In other words, there are 2 million people in this world you really, really don't want to mess with! :-)

A great Asian epic from a growing Asian world movie market.Great special effects and action scenes.A good movie to watch on a stormy and blustery night.

Great kung fu flick. Story is bit "soapy" at moments,but fight scenes are veeeery goood!!! I cant wait to see IP Man II.
