A comedy about growing up... and the bumps along the way.
Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual decision regarding her unborn child. She embarks on a search to find the "perfect couple" to take on parenting responsibilities only to find life isn't quite so simple.
Any film that namechecks Herschell Gordon Lewis and Dario Argento can’t be all that bad can it? In the case of last year’s buzzed-to-the-skies, little-film-that-could Juno, I kinda wished the names were mentioned in a better feature. Juno is occasionally enjoyable, but its twee-indie affectations - from the animated opening credits to the folky soundtrack - make the film feel like 2007’s answer to the insufferable Little Miss Sunshine. As Juno MacGuff, the quick-witted 16-year-old girl knocked up by her best Paul Bleeker (Michael Cera), Ellen Page proves more convincing and impressive than her last role playing a young peda-slayer in Hard Candy, even though Juno’s not altogether likeable and generally makes me want to clobber her. A huge part of the film’s problem lies with the script by stripper-turned-writer Diablo Cody, whose dialogue often over-reaches in attempting to sound pop-savvy-smart and snarky. One-liners come across as forced and smug, like The O.C. at its cringiest. There are some nice performances in the supporting cast: Cera, though by no means stretching from Arrested Development’s George Michael, remains an immensely likeably on-screen presence, while Jennifer Garner is elegant and understated as the yuppie wife who’s adopting Juno’s baby with Jason Bateman.

Good film. The plot & characters are refreshingly different and somewhat realistic. No unecessary violence, bad language or sex - just life. A thinker though & abit slow to start.
Really enjoyed this movie about a school age pregnancy. Great acting, quirky, funny and a great watch. Doubt my parents would have been so cool if it had happened to me at 16!
Very cute and totally watchable, while not be life-changing. A nice, easy film without being stupid. Although it's relatively predictable, the beauty lies not in what happens, but more in how it happens. Recommended viewing.
This was better than I though it would be. Lead role by Ellen Page is very very good with good roles by Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner and Superbad's Michael Cera. Would recommend!
I loved this movie!! I was quirky and upbeat. Something a little different. It was full of humour and great one liners. I laughed and cried in this movie. The girl who plays Juno is just fantastic,... Read more
she was "Juno" I don't know if anyone else could of pulled it off. Would recommend and I will be watching it again.
