I absolutely love the Lord of The Rings books and movies.
I think, in some ways, that this first part, The Fellowship Of The Ring is possibly the best of the series. Excellent production of a wonderful story.
Thought it was ok, haven't seen the other two movies or read the trilogy, so can't comment on the justice to the book. Enjoyed the scenery, but felt movie was long and slow and probably more concerned... Read more
with it's loyalty to the story than a great movie.Saw this part some time ago, so it was good to watch it again to brush up on the start of the story. Good action and it was interesting seeing the scenery of NZ and picking the spots.
A tremendous sci fi film noir thriller featuring brilliant special effects and atmospheric . complexity threaded into the story line. Unforgettable!

. However if you didn't know it was a three part then it is confusing when they don't destroy the ring at the end of it.All these movies are great!! Effects, acting and storyline are excellent. I have them in my collection at home.

odd movie to watch. Not for it's content, but from the fact that most of us New Zealander's have adopted a feeling that no NZ movie can stand up to the American movies. This movie is a fine example of how excellent we are as a country and as our ability to produce fine work. This a DVD to watch if you are a JR Tolkien fan, loved the animations and the quick pace of the movie. Would recommend highly to viewers that are into face paced movies.
GREAT movie. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" sets new standards for cinematic excellence. The cast is good. Peter Jackson has his audience completely captivated.
