Beneath the surface, everyone has a secret.
A motley group of small-town Oregon teenagers (some troubled, others not) set out on a boat trip to celebrate the birthday of their youngest member. It's all an elaborate secret ploy for some innocent payback against a local bully. But when some members of the posse begin to harbor second thoughts, the plot unravels ... quickly.

say, I'd buy it but I wouldnt watch it again for a good long while.Kept us intrigued and intersted but we were not entirely happy with the ending. Mostly alright other than that.
This is a copycat to some degree of the excellent Stand By Me

its weakness is that it is not original but its strength is that you are given time to empathize with the young characters.
Ok story, very sad, but true depiction of childrens behaviour to each other, bullies and nice kids and who wins. Nice river scences.
Good cast of kids make this better than average, about a bullying culture and the impact of their decisions when things go wrong.

difficult it can be growing up, that other people especially when your young dont always see the real you, and the torments and teasings that go along with all those growing pains. This movie touches on all of these subjects wonderfully within a group of teenagers and preteens. George is a bully, but hes also a misunderstood boy who no one really wants to understand, once a plan is set in motion to pay him back for the way he has treated others, nothing goes as planned, and everyones lives will be changed forever, and they will all have to decide who they really are, and what they are willing to do, what they are willing to become, before its too late.Very predictable sort of film which could have been done in 30 minutes really, some good performances though, and great scenery.
Superb acting by young actors in this more-adult version of Stand By Me (which is also an excellent movie). I would probably have rated it 5 stars if it hadn't ended at such an unexpected point.
