The Rain is coming... and so is the Family.

Welcome to the happiest wedding of the year... This splashy, noisy audience pleaser from Mira Nair (Salaam Bombay!) is a chaotic comedy of manners.

As the romantic monsoon rains loom, the extended Verma family reunites from around the globe, for a last-minute arranged marriage in New Dehli.

Monsoon Wedding traces five intersecting stories, each navigating different aspects of love as they cross boundaries of class, continent and morality. The film celebrates a contemporary India never before seen on screen.

The family's hopes, anxieties and long-guarded secrets merge amid frantic wedding montages of real-life New Dehli. The relentless summer heat mirrors the story's building intensity, as the city anticipates the cooling torrent of the monsoons. And when the rain comes, the catharic downpour brings romance, revelation and liberation.

Loved it - lots of fun and family and real-life situational comedy. Not to mention the colour and excitement of Indian celebration and life!!

very confusing, messy. Too many characters. And at the end there is no story or meaning as such. Just some movements and colours added together...This is not the type of Indian movies I always like to watch!

This was a little slow to begin with, but an enjoyable feel-good story with a peek into the colourful world of modern India.

What an entertaining film - full of life, fun, and always colourful and exotic. A bit hard to follow, and sometimes the plot got a bit involved, but we enjoyed it all the same
