1975 M Contains low level offensive language.

If he's crazy, what does that make you?

When free-spirited petty crook Randle P. McMurphy (Jack Nicholson) arrives at the state mental hospital, his contagious sense of disorder jolts the routine. He's on one side of a brewing war, soft-spoken, cooly monstrous Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher) on the other. At stake is the fate of every patient on the ward. Seen here in a revitalized digital transfer from refurbished elements, this electrifying adaptation of Ken Kesey's acclaimed bestseller swept all five major 1975 Academy Awards: Best Picture (produced by Saul Zaentz and Michael Douglas), Actor (Nicholson), Actress (Fletcher), Director (Milos Forman) and Adapted Screenplay (Lawrence Hauben and Bo Goldman). Raucous, searing and with a superb cast that includes Brad Dourif, Danny DeVito and Christopher Lloyd in his film debut, it soars.

It's as though he was born to play this role. Heart wrenching stuff in the end. Stays with you.

Jack Nicholson pulls off an amazing performance in this classic film that has all the right elements. Quite simply one of the best films I have ever seen. Rent and enjoy.

This film is good, but I think it was slightly ruined by the fact that I had read the book a few times in my life before finally watching the film. As we all know, the book always makes the film seem... Read more

Thought provoking movie. If you ever had concerns about the old mental institutions this is a movie to watch. Brilliantly acted by Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher.
