I was surprised by this movie, I thought it would have been a lot like Russell's other movies but it was quite different in terms of not as much gore in the fight scenes etc. I really loved it. It painted... Read more

I wanted to like this movie, I expected to like it, but it fell flat. At least an hour of it could have been edited out. Watch the 1991 version starring Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman for a different, but far better told, story.

Why so long? Some interest provided by the supporting performers Eileen Atkins, Mark Strong, Max Von S but really we didn't need another archery film.

Surprisingly good movie. If you don't like Crowe, you'll still be able to stand it. A good telling of the story, especially when you realise it's a prequel to the legend you know. A good watch.
