I think this film is sublime, very clever to use the black and white film

Walk down the right back alley in Sin City and you can find anything.
Murder, corruption and cover-ups are all part of Sin City's daily routine in this dark film that weaves three tales from Frank Miller's graphic novels. Marv (Mickey Rourke) is a psychotic outcast who seeks vengeance for Goldie's (Jaime King) murder; Dwight (Clive Owen) kills a cop and must cover it up; and nearly retired cop Hartigan (Bruce Willis) is accused of a crime he didn't commit. Benicio Del Toro, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson costar.

This has to be one of the best and purest comic to film adaptations yet. Mickey Rourke gives a fantastic performance beneath all the makeup, and you get to see Frank Miller himself as the priest in... Read more
the confession booth.Colour is used extremely well, and it mixes camera angles and the film noir feel to Miller's work perfectly.
The cliché comic book interior monologues are there, at times almost too strongly, however the film is true to its roots and almost plays with the dialogue deliberately to reinforce this fact.
Overall you couldn't ask for more, and what it does with the genre (which is prone to giving birth to weak films) is excellent, making it arguably one of the best (if not most original) comic adaptations ever.
This is the greatest movie of all time! Effects are amazing, the black and white feature is gorges! And the story line is perfect! Oh and the acting is Great!
Highly Recommended!
Top 100? Really?? Mediocre, hopelessly plagiaristic, totally wannabe. This film, this entire genre should be so good but it's always so lame, and I blame the nerdboy writers who are still in the process... Read more
of dry-humping it to death. There, I said it.This was not quite what I expected. Too graphic for us. Did not like it even slightly!
For me, the main reason I loved this movie was Mickey Rourke's performance as Marv, the hard-as-nails tough guy who has a soft spot for the ladies. Brutal beyond belief, Marv is nevertheless extremely... Read more
likeable for his dark humour and unflinching toughness.Highly recommended: Seems wierd at first but interesting and different, you get into it. A bunch of stories set in a consistent world, with characters falling in and out of each others plot lines. Visually... Read more
it's a true original - black and white movie with only the extreme colours. Violent and over the top action!Really liked the stylized approach to the film, was just something really different and wish there were more experimental films like this. Technically very well done but some of the lines were just... Read more
shockingly cheesy, I know it was the style they were going for but it didn't quite work in places. The way this movie was presented looked spectacular, the comic strip feel really added to the movie. It was an excellent movie for face value, but at times it was often difficult to understand where... Read more
the story was going, and what was the point of it. It was quite a violent film, but was also quite thrilling as well. Jessica Alba plays a very sexy role also, along with Bruce Willis in his macho personaabsolutely brilliant...this is like a comic coming to life with real people..not like spiderman or batman where you feel like watching a regular movie. This movie; You feel like you are actually reading... Read more
