Having been to Auschwitz, this movie for me, was more about remembering history so we never repeat it then the storyline. A very moving, emotional movie, not for the the fainthearted.

What a brilliant lesson in how gullible humans are ...how easily we accept what we are told. The better side of human nature is the innocence of children and how colour, race and other differences... Read more

This is a different look at an often-filmed subject matter and I thought it was handled exceptionally well. A look at the horrors of a concentration camp seen through young and innocent eyes, it is... Read more
a story of how children don't see the differences that we adults have been conditioned to see. The young actors were exceptional and the adult leads (including the always excellent David Thewlis) were also brilliant. This is a story of friendship that is both horrifying and beautiful, its a must see with an ending that will stay with you for days after.

This is not a likeable movie, there is no happy ending. It's dark and sad but an unfortunate truth about the Germans during the war.

time with his new friend? I would add that the performances are uneven. The two boys at the centre of the movie are good, but Vera Farmiga as the mother looks forced in the scenes of high emotion.

definitely not bliss. Thinking about films with a Holocaust theme this was certainly a juxtaposition to what Inglorious Basturds offered up.

The acting in this was so real I felt like I was there. I resonated with each of the characters and was hooked to the last moment and beyond. Worthwhile viewing.
