"I was born under unusual circumstances." And so begins The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. We follow his story, set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man's life can be.

Brad Pitt pointlessly grows backwards. It's trying to be 'Forrest Gump' but doesn't have any story to tell, just randomly selected, disconnected meaningless vignettes. Ponderous, boring and it goes on FOREVER.

A gorgeous film! Yes, it's sad, but it's also achingly beautiful, dealing as it does with life's brief blissful moments. Wonderful performances from the cast, and it's extraordinary to think that... Read more

Fascinating storyline, great acting with a variety of emotions.

Took a while to get into it but was glad we did.

Ending tied up beautifully with the beginning. No loose ends.

Slow start but enjoyed it far more than I expected to. Huge production. Has art house feel but clearly it is a big budget film.

I found this movie really interesting - not hard to get into the storyline, a truly curious, interesting and sad movie. I enjoyed it.

I laughed. I cried. The effects were mostly excellent, but more importantly it's a wonderful love story. It's long, but never boring, and when it finished I watched (most) of it again to listen to the commentary. A deserved award winner.

This is perhaps my favorite movie ever. David Fincher "director of fight club", always good making a movie perfect with detail and well portrayed. Brad Pitt plays a calm character who is learning of... Read more
