The devil really does have his paws on everything that goes on in the world including a law firm! Money is no issue as Reeves is drawn in for the ultimate sacrifice. 5 stars.
I had already seen this movie when I hired it. However, my familiarity with the film did not hinder the goosebumps i experienced while watching the end scene- unbelievable.
Any Al Pacino fan... Read more is going to challenge me when I say that this movie holds his most powerful monologue of his career, and with scarface and godfather on the shelf as well, I don't blame them. But before you begin with the retaliatory replies, watch Al Pacino when his character is casting his opinion about god in the end scene. Watch that first and then judge it
An entertaining and riveting movie with an interesting plot that was well acted and maintained my interest throughout the entire film.
Good vs evil - the age old dilemma facing all peoples. Is there a personification of evil called the devil, Satan, Beelzebub or what have you? Al Pacino gives a chilling performance in this movie. (Did... Read more I spot him wearing platform shoes?) The oft wooden Keanau Reeves makes a good fist of the innocent Florida attorney who seems to have the ability to pick juries and never lose a case. And he does it all on his own - or does he? There are elements of the Mephisopheles story with variations. A good, riveting suspense mystery which should not be spoiled by letting out the punch-line.
Definitely one of Pacino's best. This film will become a classic for the power of it's final scenes.
Well acted with a promising start, hinting of a movie of great interest. But there were places where it became a bit hysterical and the end was too long and drawn out. Anyway I dislike this kind of theme - just too far-fetched!
Keanau's acting is just as bad in this movies as all his others. However, the rest of the cast were great as was the script, so all in all, a pretty good movie. Some great eye candy too!
