A Modern Day Tale About The Search For Love, Sanity, Ethel Merman And The Holy Grail.

Two strangers in a big city. One's lost his job... the other's lost his mind.

As fans of films like Brazil and Twelve Monkey's know, any film by director Terry Gilliam is a unique experience. His 1991, 5-time Academy Award nominated hit The Fisher King is certainly no exception, earning world-wide critical praise that hailed it as "a bold, unique and exhilarating cinematic trip (Bruce Williamson, Playboy)."

With career-best performances from Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges, plus great support from Amanda Plummer and Mercedes Ruehl, (is her Academy Award winning, Best Supporting Actress role), The Fisher King is a magical modern-day fable... and an unmissable comic masterpiece.

A very entertaining and engaging movie. Robin Williams is very good, as usual.

A wonderful example of Robyn Williams at his best - not too much Robyn Williams in other words. This is a fascinating look at the impact of the media on the lives of those who listen and those who want to be heard.

This was an enjoyable story, a great vehicle for Robin Williams acting talent and a generally easy to watch movie with a happy ending.

Enjoyed the movie myself but others watching soon lost interest. Great cast and roles with lots of depth but didn't hold long enough for me to enjoy it.

Boring. Very well acted by Robin, Jeff and the rest of the cast act the parts well but the plot and story I thought was fragmented. If I were the director, I would have cut several scenes as they drag... Read more

Gets better with every watch. Terry Gillian is a genius - no question. Humanity in a nutshell. Every thing is good in this; Characters, plot, script, pace and twist. 20 out of 10 - but I am biased. Go Terry Gillian!
