The saga continues.
In this unique case of a sequel superseding the original, The Godfather II follows the Corleone crime family as it relocates to Nevada in the 1950s, with Michael (Al Pacino) as the new Don. The original cast returns with Robert Duvall outstanding as consigliore Tom Hagen and John Cazale as the tragic Fredo Corleone.

Perhaps not as good as part 1 but we still enjoyed it. Liked the way this movie incorporated the early years of the Don which explained where everything fit into the current plot. Looking forward to part 3.
The only film to almost touch the original Godfather movie as the greatest movie of all time. That should be enough reason to rent it, but there's so much more. Some of the best acting the screen has... Read more
ever seen. An insight into daily life for early Italian (and Sicilian) Americans and the realities that drove people to choose different paths in life. The background to much of the story in the Godfather and the harsh environment from which the Corleone family stems are depicted with an astute sense of reality and very little romanticism. It's just a marvellous film that anyone would do well to get out, preferably just after the Godfather.

predecessor. If you enjoyed The Godfather, you'll undoubtedly enjoy this.Al Pacino gives possibly the scariest and most disturbing performance of his career (a career notable for successive scary and disturbing performances). It is an absolute outrage he didn't win the Oscar. His performance alone is worth it.
Good from an historical point of view after The Godfather 1. Could have been the second part of a credible true story. Gritty story portrayed by expererienced actors. One needs to follow the time/era changes carefully.
The best installment. Pacino is mesmerizing; sullen, obsessive, driving the entire performance with that sooty gaze while everyone flaps & wallows around him. A lissome (!) flashback De Niro is always... Read more

Awesome. We were totally mesmerised by this film. Al Pacino was incredible. This must be one of his best films.
