A Hollywood producer. A Washington spin-doctor. When they get together, they can make you believe anything.

From the Academy Award Winning Director of "Rain Man"- Barry Levinson.

When the President of the United States is involved in a sex-scandal it is up to the White House adviser, Ronnie Bream (Robert De Niro) to cover it up. As the clock ticks, Ronnie joins forces with cutthroat Hollywood producer Stanley Moss (Dustin Hoffman) in a desperate attempt to divert the country's attention away from the President.

They decide to redirect the media spotlight to a war, but lacking a real war, they create one. Actresses are called in to play pretty refugees and rock stars record stirring hit songs about freedom.

"The War" saves the President in this wickedly funny political satire that couldn't have been more timely!

Brilliant acting by Dustin Hoffman. A tale of how the press and the public can be manipulated. Hoffman and De Niro make an excellent duo who are so unreal they are actually plausible!
